The Discoverer HT is a strong performer as an OE replacement option for your sport truck or SUV, as well as a great option for plus sizes. The H/T Plus varies the number of shoulder elements based on each tire size, reducing noise frequency, and allowing a quiet ride despite large rim diameters. See through grooves with wide lateral traction and high sipe density, provide excellent all weather performance.
- Optimized pitch sequence: Varies the number of shoulder elements based on tire size which reduces noise frequency, allowing a quiet ride in larger sizes.
- All weather tread: See-through grooves, wide lateral traction slots and high sipe density provide excellent all-weather performance.
- S-speed rated: Signifies that the tire sustained speeds of 112 mph in wheel testing.

Take this for what it is worth. I drive 35,000 to 40,000 miles a year in north east Wisconsin where road conditions can change from warm and dry to cold and icy in a matter of minutes. (Daily commute to work is 120 miles round trip.) Roughly 95% of my driving is on paved road the remaining 5% is on gravel/dirt trails through the woods. My truck is used heavily for towing trailers ranging from 1,000lbs to 6,000lbs and pulling boats up slippery steep launches.
Dry: Solid reliable handling. Can easily push these tires in corners and they'll hold even when towing.
Wet: If you are a sensible driver (slowing down and/or avoiding the deep stuff) they are very good. However, if you like to charge the deep waters to see it fly, these tires will pull you laterally so be prepared to get off the accelerator. Slippery boat launches pose no challenge, I've only used 4WD once on a launch due to the incline and amount of moss.
Snow: The lugs clean quickly providing excellent traction, they hold surprisingly well to the road even after 90,000 miles. Many a winter day I'll maintain highway speeds (or try) while the bulk of the traffic is plodding along in the slow lane or parking in the ditches.
Noise/Comfort: Both are subjective to personal taste or should I say tolerance. My opinion - quiet and comfortable. Normal conversation can be had in the cabin without having to raise one's voice.
Treadwear: Very good - 95,000 and still counting though I have been riding on the tread bars since 90,000. (Will be purchasing a new set within the next month.)
In short, American made, American driven, American Pride - Buy American!

I usually don't take the time to write a review on most sites but I was extremely impressed with the time it took for the tires to get shipped to me. I placed my order on Thursday afternoon and had the tires delivered on Friday around 4:00. I was checking my e-mail throughout the day Friday to see if they had even been shipped out yet. (The e-mail letting me know they were shipped out came in about 7:00 pm Friday) Other than being very impressed with the time of delivery, I couldn't be happier with the condition of the tire and the price I paid for them. Overall I am very impressed and plan on using this company again.

My truck has 165000 miles on it, so I've gone through plenty of tires. I make sure the front suspension is tight and rotate the tires every 6k. I have the 20 inch wheel package which are a pain and expensive. The original Goodyear's were junk, only lasting 24k miles. I've tried Bridgestone's, BFG's, another set of Goodyear's and finally these. Out of all of them these Cooper tires have the smoothest and quietest ride. The traction is good in all weather, although in the deep snow the BFG's were better. I've put about 58k on these tires. I Originally ordered General Grabbers but they were out of stock, so they talked me into these, and I'm glad they did. For the price, you can't beat these tires. I'm ordering a new set today.

I bought the RAV4 with 35,000 miles the Goodyear tires where shot less than 3/32 tread left. Put on the Cooper Discover H/T got over 75,000 miles on first pair. I put another 70,000 miles on the second pair and still have 5/32 tread remaining. GREAT TIRE FOR TRACTION AND WEAR, may be a bit noisy at highway speeds but they roll on forever. Buy a tread depth gauge 2/32 remaining means new tires.

TreadDepot has great service and fast shipping. I have owned a lot of cars and tried many different tires, these are a great tire for the money. Half the price of BFG A/T and in my opinion better snow traction and a quieter road tire.

So far so good. I bought these tires because of A) The great reviews B) The great price C) The good looks of the tire.
I had them installed in late-summer/early-fall, and so far I've been able to drive them in every condition, including some deep snow recently. I have nothing but good things to say about them. They're quiet, they handle really well, no vibrations at all. They grip the road well in all conditions. If you're driving a truck, I'd recommend (with any winter driving on any tires) putting some weight in the bed. With about 250-300lbs in the bed, these tires grip very well in the snow. I recently took the weight out of my bed (had to haul something) and noticed that without the weight, you'll spin a bit. Throw it in 4x4 and these tires grab like crazy.
They have semi-aggressive look to them, but still look like a street-tire overall. I haven't had them off-road yet, so I can't comment on their handling in dirt/mud FYI. I've noticed no difference in MPG's.
Driving a Tundra CrewMax 4x4, curb weight is around 57,00lbs.

What a difference these tires made on my truck. I had the Goodyear HP's from the factory and they were a very hard tire. The Goodyear tires wore even but were very hard. It made the ride so stiff and I could feel every bump, imperfection, and rock on the road. My truck is 4WD so it does ride a little stiffer, but with these Cooper tires, WOW - what a difference. It is so much smoother and the truck rides so much better. I recommend these tires, and they are at a very good price, and the best thing about them is They Are Made In The USA. Thank you.

I just ordered another set of these to replace the old ones. The tire has held up very well. I have around 50,000 miles on these and have only rotated them ONCE! The tread is still a few mm higher than the treadwear indicators and I could probably get another 20,000 out of them, but I'm very picky and decided to go ahead and replace them. This tire is THE best value on the market in the 20" category. Ride, noise, and handling are all excellent. I will buy again.

My truck is leased, but the Michelin's that came with the truck are already gone at 30,000 miles. Needed a decent tire that was cheap, since I'm returning the truck in April 2011 and didn't want Infiniti charging me for new tires at God knows what price. The price was right for these tires so I gave them a shot. Turns out, these are great tires at any price. Ride is a little harder than the original tires, but they handle great in all type of weather and offer great traction. I would highly recommend these as a SUV of truck tire.

This is my second set of new tires on my 2005 NISSAN TITAN. My truck came stock with Goodyear Wrangler SRA's size 265/70/18. The first time I had to replace my tires at around 40,000 miles, I went with the same Goodyear Wrangler SRA's. This time around I wanted to put something on that was a little more wider, a little more sporty and performance looking, but yet something that still had good wet and dry traction and also something with a nice BEEFY LOOKING tread pattern. But I also wanted something that would offer a smooth and quite ride with a beefy look and that's not always easy to do. BUT, THESE ARE THE ONES!!! Usually the beefier tires have a lot of road noise, but not these. I got the Cooper Tire HT PLUS models, size 285/60/18. These make my truck look awesome. The ride is nice and smooth, very quite, and have great dry traction. Not too sure yet about the wet traction as we haven't got any rain here in North Cal. for awhile and I have only had the tires for about 2 weeks. I have put about 500 miles on them so far and I have no complaints as of yet. So if you are looking for some nice 18 inch tires for your truck or SUV, these are the ones in my opinion.

They have great agressive styling but not obnoxious. Quiet on the road and have yet to find any conditions to stop them. Wet traction is great - very little hydroplaning through deep water. The ONLY complaint I have is on my tires they pick up rocks all the time and you get that constant "ticking" driving down the road. Other then that I love them and will be buying a set for my wife's Jeep next!

Put these on in Feb of '09. Great tires! Handled really well dry or wet. Even snow traction was pretty darn impressive. Unfortunatly they seemed to wear pretty quickly. I'm already down just past the halfway point and once there you'll lose considerable snow traction. Will I get 40,000O out of them? Don't think so. Otherwise I have no other issues. Would I buy them again ..? Possibly if I can find them at a lower price than I paid (about 165, ea. mt'd & blnc'd + taxes). That way I might not mind replacing them more frequently. Would I recommend them ? Again, possibly but pointing out the wear issue. Oh, also Fuel mileage may have suffered just a bit but so hard to tell for sure.

Bought these tires at Kauffman on 5/11. Best deal in Tampa. Aggressive tread pattern. Will review again after about 6,000 miles or so.

Tire wears very well. Ride is stiff especially if it is cold outside. Wet weather traction is OK, better than the original Goodyears it came with but the Kumos I bought were better for traction. The Kumos wore out fast. Overall for the price these tires are good.

I have only had these tires for 1 month and have put about 250 miles on them .I had sumitomos on my truck before and wanted a better and quieter tire , I think these coopers are a better tire but the growl at 45mph+ is annoying . I guess I will just turn the stereo up louder.

I bought these tires new. I have about 25,000 miles on them and they are gone. I would not recommended this tire for anyone with a heavy they will not last. They take corners great... have great traction on the pavement. Good in rain. I have also driven this tire on sand.. it clogs up like any other highway tread. I would recommend but not buy for again!!

I have a 2006 Dodge RAM 1500 w/ Hemi. I liked these tires for the first while. The tires were quiet, smooth and good handling. But as the miles piled on, the worse they got. Now at 30,000 miles, I have about 30% tread. The traction was never great, could slip the tires accelerating on dry ground, and really light them up in the rain, but I always blamed the trucks power. Now it just seems unnerving in the wet, scary in the snow. I paid $173 a tire 4 years ago, now I've seen them for $119, must tell you something.

I have owned two sets of these, and even with frequent rotation, the life of the tire is just not there. Terrible traction on wet roads. Went with Kumho stx excellent tire.

Good tires in all weather conditions. Good for towing which I did a lot of. I maintained proper pressure and rotated every 5k but they wore down quickly.

At approx. 19k the tires developed an air leak around the bead and I have been fighting low air pressure ever since. The dealer has made multiple attempts to stop the leaks i.e.: buffing rims bead sealer, buffing the beads, but has had no luck. Low air pressure has prematurely worn my tire and now I have been offered a wear adjustment on a new set. The truck came with a set of Pirelli Scorpions, which I had over 60k miles when the were replaced. I only have 42k on the coopers and they already have less tread than the Pirelli's. Not sure why the Coopers are leaking around the bead.

I purchased these tires April 14th and tomorrow will be switching them out for another brand. The fact I got a great deal on them from TreadDepot doesn't mean much when after 20,000 miles, I have only 1/2 tread left. Maybe it was the pair I got but even when knew the tread depth looked shallow. I will be getting my next set from Discount Tire and the new ones will have a mileage gurantee.
