I have read alot of reviews on this tire and had to comment. I'm at 45K these (275-70R18) and I will easily get another 10-15K out of them before they get to the wear bars. Its a heavy tire built for off road performance and provides great steet manners. I have had all of the squirllyness talked about and the key to the fix is air pressure. This is a E rated tire with a 3 ply sidewall so your normal 35 Psi wont cut it, jeep guys are running 40 psi on them. I have adjusted mine (1500 with a ARE on the back) from 60 to the 35 that they left the tire shop with and turned around and drove it right back to air them up to 50. What Ive found is that 45 works well empty but 50 is a must for my boat (about 4500lbs) Mine are wearing straight across perrfectly. I even carry the original receipt in the glovebox to prove my mileage (which is actually higher due to the taller tire size over the factory change) . So if the tire is flexing, add air pressure at about 5 psi at a time. If you are looking for a durable tire with great on road manners that will push through the slop, look no further. These are the mt's of new without the noise of the old.

These tires are very smooth and silent for a tire with a hybrid all-terrain/ mud-terrain tread pattern. They ride as smooth as any 10 ply I have owned before. On pavement they ride well in both wet and dry conditions, they hold a corner very well traction wise but there is a bit more sidewall flex than the Bridgestone A/T Revo's I had before so they dont feel as sporting. The tread on the Revo's was almost bald so its not really a fair comparison. On dirt they are amazing they stick like glue, hill climbs on loose dirt feels at least 30% more secure than the BFG ALL-terrain KO's I had before the Revo's. These Coopers self clean mud much better than both my previous two tires. They also perform exceptionally well on washboard roads at higher speeds. In mud just a little throttle will easily clean the treads. They seem to be wearing very well. I cannot comment on winter use as I have dedicated winter tires. Overall if you drive fast and agressive on pavement you will find the sidewalls a bit soft. If you drive conservative on road they will work well. Almost any type of off road environment is where they excel.

I can't say enough about this tire. I do a lot of driving on back roads and gravel as well as on the highway/town. On the highway, they are relatively quiet. Much quiter than other tires this aggressive. But they ride very comfortably. Being 10 ply tires they are a little stiff but that's what you'd expect. Offroad and on gravel/dirt they handle like a dream. Wet traction is actually pretty good. A lot better than my old Goodyears. They go through mud great as well as soft dirt. They do clean themselves well also. They do pick up a rock or two but that's also to be expected. I haven't had them in snow yet but I expect that to be good too. The key is keeping the right about of air in them. I run about 42-45 lbs in mine but for heavier vehicles you should adjust accordingly. I would recommend this tire to anyone who is looking for an aggressive all terrian or mud tire. Don't let the price scare you, they are well worth the money. I've had them on about 5 to 6000 miles and they show no signs of wear at all. Great product Cooper!

The S/T Maxx is a good looking and performing, mildly aggressive tire A/T tire. The ride of these tires is a little stiff but they should break in with some more miles over the next few hundred miles. They look great on my jeep and so far have performed very good in dry & wet weather. I have owned Mickey Thompson ATZ's and they seem very similar- both tires I like.

I Really Love these Coopers, they handle Rain and dry all the same. I have been off road a lot and they are very aggressive in Mud or dirt whatever you encounter. Very quiet on the road, virtually no noise at all, I will buy this tire again and from tread depot. Tread depot was excellent to deal with, made the purchase as easy as could be. You have a repeat customer for sure.

I have not had this tire on the truck for very long, but, so far they are great!!! I have towed with them and performed very well and been off road with them a little. Traction is very good in what little I have used them off the pavement. They are a little louder than stock but surprisingly quite for a 34" tire with such an aggressive tread. Time will tell on the wear of them. These are my first Coppers and normally go with BFG AT/KO for my trucks but at almost a $100 cheaper they were worth a shot. So far very happy with them. My fuel mileage dropped about 1.5mpg but that was expected with a larger tire. These are 10lbs heavier than the Pirellis per tire.

The 255/85R16 S/T Maxx tires that I bought were the 10ply rated version. These tires are awesome! The best tires I've had on the truck yet. The truck handles great on and off the road. I'm in the tree business and frequently off road. The grip these tires have is outstanding. Last week my chip truck was stuck and I had to pull it out. My old tires never would have done it, I know because I've tried it several times and got nowhere! The other great thing about these tires is they're quiet on the highway, this is a huge plus! Cooper really did a great job engineering these tires!

It is still early but so far I love these tires. They are as quiet as other reviews had mentioned and they look great on the truck. I did have a little rear shimmy as others have noted but that was with 85 psi in the tire which was only getting about 2-3" of contact between the center of the tread and the road....way over inflated with nothing in the truck or towing. I have dropped them to 55-60 psi and really I could run them less than that..I am running 70-75 psi in the fronts. If you have a Dually and want a little taller tire that still is within wheel width spec, these are the tires for you!!! The price is also great...these were cheaper than if I replaced with stock BFG Rugged Trails. I ordered the tires on Friday and they shipped the same day, I had them on Tuesday!! Been telling all my friends about Tread Depot....very happy!!

These tires are as quiet as the A/T OEMs my Jeep came with and have handled great on highways, stop and go traffic, and in 3 feet of mud. I haven't taken them in snow/ice yet, but with the engineered siping, I expect them to handle better than most mudding tires. I'm excited that Cooper put out such a great option for 33s to compete with BF Goodrich. And the price on Tread Depot, ~$200 per, was the best I've found for this tire. Will definitely buy again.

Hands down the best off-road/mud terrain/ all terrain tire I have ever purchased. Quieter than expected. Clean out of mud is also better than expected. Traction in mud is never a problem, and I find myself not using the rear locker as much I had previously with the BFG All Terrains. As far as looks go- hard to beat the aggressive style. And the best part- they are Made in the USA!

The 255/80R17 is a new size from cooper and exactly what I wanted on my DRW truck. I mostly drive city/highway and tow a 15K fifth wheel in the summer. So far so good. They are very quiet and ride really smooth on the highway. It has only snowed once since putting them on and they performed great. Towing will be the real test, but the short amount I have towed with them they seem stable and not too "squishy" with a load on. If you are looking for a little larger tire for a DRW truck but do not want to run a spacer, this is the tire for you.

This is a great tire if you are looking for a hybrid mud and all terrain. Also easy to find at a great price and in new sizes. More tires need to be made in the 255/80/17 size and Cooper listened to the customer and provided it. This tire does very well in snow and rain and out performed my previous tires in these conditions. On the little trail riding I have done on these tires they performed great. Excellent side wall flex when aired down even for an E rated tire. Great tire for hwy and offroad use.

We haven't had these long, but I thought I would chime in on how great they are in snow. Went through a snow drift at least 3' tall (packed by the plows) and 10' feet deep to get into our driveway before our guy came to clear it. I figured the worst case if I got stuck, I'd just leave the truck there and walk to the house. Not necessary as it turned out. The ST Maxxes went through it like an ax through a popcicle stick. So far, so good.

Those wore out right at 47,000 miles, which in my mind is not bad for a tire this size. The problem I had was, I could'nt find any of the AT2's to replace the original set. I tried three shops here in town, plus a few online (including here) and no one had them in stock. I decided to give the ST Maxx a go based on the looks and the price. I'll be honest, I feel pretty good the Toyo's were on backorder. I like the way these look - they set off the truck better and look tougher. The ride is as good as the Toyo's and if anything they are quieter even though the tread - to me at least - is more aggressive. Been through some mud already and this is where they really shine. They clean out better and I've yet to get to point that I needed 4wd. One more thing to mention, Made in the USA. My money is on these.

Had these tires now for almost 50,000 miles. By far, the best I've ever owned. They're quiet as a church mouse on the road, but the grip off road is killer. Sand, mud, whatever, they pull right through it. I tow a lot (car hauler) and don't understand what other reviews are saying about sidewall sway - these things are as stable as can be. The people complaining about sway probably are not running enough air pressure, because mine have been awesome. Most of the time I forget the trailer is back there, and that's hauling 8000+ lbs. When these finally wear out, I'll be back for more.

I inspect utility poles for power companies and go where ever the line goes. I've been in all elements from SoCal to West VIrginia, West Texas to Glacier NP in Montana and nearly every state in between. I always ran them aired up to 70 psi except on a few occasions and am quite impressed with traction on Sand, Rock, Mud, Snow, Ice. I bought an $8,000 custom suspension to tackle all these environments and never encountered 1 problem with the tires, just wish they came in a 35" size.

Installed these on a 2007 Dodge Mega cab 2500 with a 5.9L. Tires are smooth and quiet for what they are. I was surprised to see tires do have the rim saver edge near bead of tire and small ridges between tread blocks to keep mud from sticking between tread like mud Terran tires do. Only reason didn't rate at 5 star is not a lot of miles on tires yet and haven't driven on snowy icy roads. So far I am impressed and will purchase another set when these wear out. Great value thank you TreadDepot.com

Typically I do not write reviews without extensive play time but I wanted to give my initial impression. These tires have an aggressive appearance for an all terrain/ hybrid platform. Yet the ride is amazingly smooth and howl free. I look forward to putting some highway miles with some beach and trail excursions mixed along the way. Will post another review at 10k miles.

I wanted to fill the holes a little more on my 2012 Ram 3500 Mega Cab 4WD Dually without a lift kit or any suspension modifications. After a ton of research I found that many people were running the BF Goodrich Mud Terrains in 255/70R17 on the late model duallys because they're about 2 inches taller and don't require spacers on the rear wheels. Cooper recently came out with these ST Maxx tires in that size at almost half the price. I decided to buy all 7 tires since the Cooper tires were cheaper and aggressive without going overboard. I love the look of the tires and the size up looks like my truck has a 2" lift! I tow a 20k fifth wheel and have had no problems with the tires or them touching. I haven't wore out a set yet but people are saying they're getting 50k miles out of them so time will tell? In my opinion you can't go wrong with these tires or Tread Depot's pricing! They shipped quick and arrived on time. I don't think you can beat the price and even in these American made tires don't last, you could almost buy two sets for the price of other tires in the same size and category! They perform amazing off road, aren't too noisy, handle bumps and potholes much better than the stock tires. The tread also wrapps about halfway down the sidewalls which helps quite a bit when you need mud or snow traction! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the tires do seem to "float" a little while highway driving because of the taller sidewalls probably. It just takes a little getting used to but it's not a big issue. Anyway, buy these tires in this size and you won't be disappointed about how your dually or even SRW truck looks and drives!!!

My truck currently has +171k miles, about a 60/40 mixture of highway and off road. The tires these replaced were BFG AT/KOs of the same size, with +62k miles on them. Not certain why the BFGs get a bad rap from some folks but I've driven in all kinds of conditions from hurricane pouring down rain, white-out snow to PA peanut butter red clay. So why switch to the Coopers? I was looking for something more aggressive without going to a full on mud tire. They are definitely more aggressive. In loose rock they want to dig till they find something grab hold of, they clean out easily. I was also surprised by the amount of sidewall flex even at 50psi. On the highway in the rain they create their own weather system. They do make some noise on the highway but not what you would expect from a tire this aggressive. The one thing that did take a hit was my gas mileage, but it is a load E tire and the big Dodge is not known as eco friendly.

These tires so far are a very nice ride once I got the air pressure right...rain and dry pavement have been a joy especially in the turns....I put the air back up to 60psi and towed a 10,000lb trailer for 250 miles with great confidence...I am still amazed at how quiet the tires are for such an aggressive tread pattern....can't wait to hit the dirt and snow....

Tires are very aggressive looking and have great road manners! Hook up and self clean very well in mud! Tires really make the truck look much better as well! Still haven't found the perfect psi yet for my application (half ton) but they ride very good. Was worried about a stiff ride after leveling my truck and adding these tires, but I am glad to say my truck still rides very nice! Overall I am very pleased with them and definitely recommend them to anyone who needs good road manners with a mean looking and well performing tire. I am going to contact Cooper and ask if they maybe have a recommended psi for a half ton truck. And the one time I went mudding so far my truck just easily crawled through everything...even with the frame dragging through the mud :)

I run my truck on and off road - one third of mileage is off road. I have E load tires for this truck. Slight overkill. These tires are great, they stick on everything: wet, dry, mud, snow. I do not take it easy off road. On pavement 50 psi, off road 24psi. I drive on shale roads and have yet to see any small cuts in these tires. I have had BFG Kelly Dunlop Goodyear and Kumho tires and they all s%$k compared to these tires.

These have been great tires for me. My truck is not a daily driver, but I have put about 9500 miles on the tires while on overlanding trips and off road trails. I've put these tires through a lot and they have done very well for me. Been put through high speed washboard roads, over jagged rocks, soft sand, deep soupy mud, and snow! Great traction in everything. Holds well on dirt and rocks, pulls me through mud and sand really nicely, and even has great traction over ice and snow; I couldn't break them loose even when I tried. I've even rubbed the sidewalls against sharp rocks where I thought I was going to rip them open, but nothing even happened. The tires are so tough, that there weren't even any scratch marks. I didn't rate them a full 5 stars, because I have some very, very small chunking. But I figured that is understandable given the weight of the rig especially fully loaded with people and camping gear on trips and the extremely harsh terrain I am constantly driving through. Overall great tires! More aggressive and better traction than all terrain tires, but not as noisy as full mud terrains.

I wanted to replace my stock Goodyear Wrangler tires on my JK with something that had a more aggressive tread pattern, and also upsize the tire a bit. According to the Jeep boards this is the largest tire that will fit my JK on stock wheels and without any sort of lift. I am very happy with the new Cooper ST Maxxs. They look great. A little bigger, but a lot more aggressive looking. I was really surprised at how quiet they are on highway. They have a little bit more hum than the Wranglers did, but not much at all. My last Jeep I had upgraded to Bridgestone Revos and those tires were nice also but had a louder whine to them on the highway. I would buy these Coopers again. I had them delivered to and installed at a local NTB, which worked out great. This size tire is very unique. None of the local tire places carry the 80's profile tire.

To start with I have a 2012 Ram 2500 Laramie with the Cummins. I replaced the stock BF Goodrich tires and these made my truck look much better aggressively. I have just under 1000 miles on these tires now. I've had them on sloppy winter roads with 8" of snow, icy highways, slush, hardpacked snow, and about every other type of winter weather conditions you can experieince on and offroad and so far very impressed with the handling. I've pulled my 26' enclosed trailer loaded (total of about 8,000# loaded) in the same types of conditions and handling was still great. Only complaints I would have is that the sidewalls seemed a bit soft when loaded which made handling seem a bit awkward. Also the truck rides much rougher than my previous stock BF Goodwrich tires. Overall would definitely buy again. Hope they wear well.

I know I hate the so far so good reviews but, thye are, and seems as how they are a brand new tire and tread desing I'll opine. Road noise is minimal and I'm the first one to have them in town and I've already had a few questions on them. They look good, side wall "tread" rut gaurd looks good, tread its self with 2 lateral grooves displace slushy snow really well and in the litle bit of mud they were in they did great. The 3-ply armor-tek side walls ride decently well too, not as rough as i thought. They handle fine also, as much as you would ever need for a Tahoe to handle.

The purchase process with Tread Depot was an outstanding experience. The individual that help me went out of his way to answer my multitude of questions. I actually purchased a tire and wheel package. Not sure of the wheels I wanted, I was able to stop by their facility and look at a couple options. Fortunately, their distribution center is not far from me. In addition to exceptional customer service, the pricing was the best I found. Once I made up my mind as to which tires and wheels I wanted, they were delivered, well wrapped, with 24 hours. The tires and wheels looked great and came without any damage. The lug nuts and caps were all accounted for also. However, upon unwrapping the tire/wheels, I noticed what I felt was an excessive amount of balancing weights. These tires took significantly more weight than my last set of (a different brand) and the rear tires still have a vibration to them. I'm currently working with Tread Depot to rectify this issue and I'm confident they will resolve the matter. In addition to the vibration issue, I now have to constantly work the steering wheel to keep the truck centered. It has an unacceptable amount of "wander" now and it gets worse at higher speeds. I am VERY DISSATISFIED with the feel/handling of the truck, with these tires. Originally, the tires came aired to 36 PSI (50 PSI is the rated maximum). I aired the tires to 45 PSI and felt an improvement to the tracking issue but, it did not eliminate the issue. I don't know if this is due to the lug pattern design or if it is a sidewall construction issue. Either way, the tires in no way handle as well as (a different brand). The only positive comment I can post is that the tires look very good and the noise level is very low for an aggressive lug pattern. In summary, would I buy from Tread Depot again....I definitely would. Would I buy this brand/model of tire again.....NO.

I purchased a set of these tires for the back of my truck. I Hooked up my horse trailer and started down the road and about got in an accident. The back of my truck swayed from side to side like the sidewalls were bending. You could feel the whole truck sway to the outside of turns to the point it felt like it was going to roll over. I've owned this truck for 12 years and never had an All Terrain tire do this. This was my first experince with Cooper tires and it will be my last. I would not recommend these tires if you plan on hauling any kind of load.

I just bought these tires 2 days ago. I ordered them in a 10 ply 285/75/16. When you go around a corner going down the road at just 40 mph, the back of my truck sways to the outside and feels like I'm driving a damn boat. So I thought maybe something is wrong with my truck so we took them off and put them on my buddy's truck and his did the same thing. It's the tires that suck. I can see my center cap going in and out as I make corners with my truck because the sidewall isn't as strong and cooper says they are. My other 285's that are only 8 ply and bald handled better on the road than these. They say you get what you pay for but these tires cost me $1,011 for the set (mounted and balanced) and they are junk. I would of thought I was getting a damn nice tire for the price I payed. NOT! These tires are going to roll off the bead if they keep this up. I can't even pull a tandem trailer with my 3/4 ton truck with these tires. I will NOT buy these tires again and I wouldn't recommend anybody to buy these tires either. At least not in this size. They are unsafe.
